Steve Obenchain is Supervisor of Portfolio Support Services at Donaldson Capital Management. He attended the University of Evansville and played baseball for the Purple Aces. Before graduating, he left school to play professional baseball in the Oakland Athletics minor league system.
After retiring from Baseball, Steve returned to UE, completed a BS in Economics, and joined an independent advisory firm. He earned his Series 7 and 66 licenses, and his Life and Health Insurance license. He built a book of business and was responsible for portfolio construction and allocation for high net worth clients. During this time, Steve learned that his talents and passions lie with working behind the scenes – utilizing technology for portfolio rebalancing, financial analysis, and security trading. He now does all of this while managing the Portfolio Support Services Team at DCM.
Steve and his wife Erin have five children: Hailey, Emily, Ryan, Jacquelyn, and Molly. They live in Newburgh and are active at St. John Catholic Church. Steve can usually be found helping any number of his kids’ sports teams throughout the year in his free time. He and his wife also try to make an annual trip to catch a Notre Dame Football game in South Bend.
