Lead Financial Planner - Team Lead

Kevin Coombs, CFP®, joined Donaldson Capital Management in 2021 and is Lead Financial Planner – Team Lead. In his role, he is responsible for elevating the financial planning competency and client experience at DCM. In collaboration with the Director of Wealth Solutions and our Investment Advisors, he strives to help clients look at and understand their financial picture holistically to plan and achieve their goals.

Kevin was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Williams College in Massachusetts, where he played on the lacrosse team, and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2009. Kevin quickly earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and has worked directly with clients on their investments and financial plans for over 14 years. Throughout his career, he has gained broad and deep experience in financial, retirement, investment, insurance, estate, and tax analyses. He has created or presented well over 1,000 financial plans for clients, addressing virtually every client situation imaginable.

After working at a couple of large financial services firms, Kevin is excited to be with DCM to focus on clients and serve their best interests. He enjoys the combination of complex data and human interaction when working with clients on their financial plans.

Kevin and his wife Whitney currently live in St. Louis, along with their sons Auggie and Owen. They enjoy exploring new restaurants and events throughout the St. Louis area, cheering on the Cardinals and Blues, and traveling — to Maine, Colorado, and any place with a beach. They attend The Journey church at the end of their block.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
